Extraneous details

I had an awesome time in London. Saw David Devant & His Spirit Wife, which was an great gig, even the support (The Bikini Beach Band) were good!  Really had fun! If I could see them again tomorrow I would go again! The next day I did the usual shopping for things and sightseeing. Finally managed to go to the Tate which I’ve wanted to do for ages. My feet are about ready to fall off with the amount of walking I’ve done in the last few days. I didn’t want to leave though! :(

Summer Solstice this weekend and I’m off to Stone Henge for it. It will be the first time I’ve been so that’ll be interesting, hoping it won’t rain! Almost looks like I have a social life eh?

Tomorrow I will be catching up on on my work I’ve not been doing and should be, doh!

Another short post

Been very busy at the moment, well busier than normal. Thought I’d drop in with a “coming soon” blah

In other news, off to London to see David Devant & His Spirit Wife! Very happy :) It is not very often that I see bands any more and definitely not very often I see one that I’ve been really looking forward too. Should be fun! I love visiting London anyway, so much to see and do.

Short post

First few days of work were awesome and full of papery goodness! I feel that at least some of it has gone in, hopefully! Now to start my first actual working week of the summer. I’m gonna make me some stimli!

New Star Trek film and some wine tonight, I almost feel cultured…almost (dons sunglasses in preparation for lens flare)

Meh. Short post…

Exams are over, let the working begin!

Exams are over! How I’ve waited for this day! Now to remember what I did before revision took over my life…was it something to do with genes/children/pop psych? No…I would hope not.

So currently having a relaxing bank holiday, doing exactly nothing. I may paint my nails while watching some junk films, but that is as much as I intend to do today. Anyway, I have to be up early tomorrow for my induction! w00t! I get to get a new staff card with the same details as the one I just handed in, hopefully not with the same ‘just dug up’ picture, but I expect it will be. At least I can scare small children with it I suppose. I get to have an induction around the department tomorrow, which should be short seeing as I spend a lot of time in there already. I’m really looking forward to working in the psych department, I owe many thanks/favours/drinks for the opportunity! Unfortunately I have to share an office with a certain Dr.Godwin. Tsch, there’s always a down side!

Revising…

I hate revising or learning things for the first time in some cases. I’m a bit more chilled now, but still in countdown to exam mode. Less than two weeks and I’m free!

One happy happy joy joy thing to look forward to is that I’m pretty much all sorted to do research assistant work this summer. Extremely happy about this and really looking forward to it!

No more posts till after exam stress now…bai bai

Zombies > revision

I love my HTC Desire. It does anything I could want in a phone. Plus this whole app stuff is awesome. I am extra happy about apps because I’ve always had a crappy phone that can’t even MMS, never mind being able to install programs onto it! I may do a app post at a later date. In phone game app blah and to continue my point and click game obsession, Hayward found me a pretty cool game called Mystique. The first part is a “escape from a locked room” game and is free. It was actually really fun. Not only does it make my point-and-click-brain-centre happy, it is set in a very dark/gothic/mental hospital setting. Complete with eerie noises! I have paid for the next two games/parts, the second I have completed and was a lot of fun, with a scary child to follow and the only point was to get an elevator working. Sounds crap, but was great, but no spoilers here. The game was difficult enough to keep me happy, but not stupidly hard in a “you must click exactly on a pixel, for no real reason” to progress. Just nice logical problems. I’ve just started the third one, with is a lot longer than the other two apparently and they have improved the eerie noises greatly. It’s now really creepy to play in the dark with the random heavy breathing and doors slamming behind you sounds and the whispers of doom! It’s truly awesome! <3 Hayward for finding it.

Sadly I am stress-filled. It is the last two weeks before exams. I’m concerned, yet I can’t wait for them to be over. I’m more concerned about a rather weird qualitative report I have to write up this week. Showing our own opinions and values, but written in the third person. Should be interesting…To make it worse the topic is on school era sex and relationship education. I dunno…maybe I’ll get into it as I write it, I just prefer stats.

In good news I finally retrieved Zombieland from the royal mail delivery centre of d00m. I will be cramming random psychological facts into my brain and following this with watching zombie brains getting ker-splatted. Although somehow that sneaky postman managed to put a red card of d00m through he door when I was actually home. So another trip to the ghetto where the delivery centre is located is called for. The journey there is fun, passing signs on lampposts wanted witnesses for a murder nearby. The strange people who just stand outside their houses…for no discernible reason other than it’s fun to stand outside. The way people have small bonfires…on the pavement (my personal favourite) and lastly that we have to walk over the grotty bridge where the river is just mud and rotten sunken boats and all you can see is mud, traffic and rusted metal. I live in a classy place. I must take pictures next time, now I have an uber phone! Blah, anyway, back to work.

Zombie kitty desire

After a week of craptastic news and being thieved from, I have finally had a good day! New phones arrived this morning, HTC Desire. A massive improvement on my previous phone, which was only, well…a phone. This one is all shiny and covered in my sticky finger prints! Plus it has all the geeky gadgets I could ever want. Now I need to find reasons to use them.

I ordered Zombieland dvd, hoping it will arrive tomorrow. It’s one of the few films I’ve seen at the cinema I want to see again. Who can go wrong with zombies?

I must revise…but I can always find better things to do. I made a Ziggy card for my mum’s birthday! He is such a flirt cat.

Classic penal-tron dilettante

Oooooh, coming close to my first weekend where I would be working. I’m quite happy how it’s all turned out. Currently have 5 weeks left till summer holidays and the last assignment and revision for exams has begun. Just the terrible task of picking modules and project for next year, I change my options every few hours, not good. Seems to be a lot of heath and social…which I normally try to avoid. Summertime soon and helping out with psychology dilettante style. I’m quite excited to get paid to geek it up all summer! ^.^

Currently experiencing a time warp with my music. I’ve found the MTV Classic channel has a “Alternative Classic Mixtape” few hours . I feel sad that music I like is marked classic :/ I’m not that old! Although I am happy that it’s a music channel I can watch for more than one song without wanting to flick! Also, it’s really handed to be reminded of bands that I forgot about…my poor, old person memory obviously. Now I’m related artist surfing in Spotify, Garbage, Smashing Pumpkins, Soundgarden, Pixies <3 I really must find an indie club that plays this stuff still!

Hayward bought me Sam and Max – The Penal Zone, twas quite awesome! I love point and click games! The massive amount of dialogue jokes is also really funny, especially remarks about cleaning themselves with their tongues…like cats and flight attendants! I thought it was hilarious! It took me a good two sittings to complete it and I really enjoyed it. The graphics are much better than the usual point and click games like Mystery of Time and Space (MOTAS) which was my favourite for re-playing. I can’t wait for more of the Sam and Max series of games. If I was to review it briefly I’d have to say if you like point and click you will love this! If you don’t like the whole “clicking everything in existence to see what it does” stuff you might not like it, but it has a hint level option where you can look into the future with Max’s new psychic powers to make it not seem so pointy-pointy, but you can decide if you want it high hint level or low. Also, unlike a lot of point and click games you don’t ever need to click on something the size of a pixel (minor exaggeration) to activate anything. Finally, if you love the Sam and Max humour, you will love this, I don’t normally giggle away to myself while playing a game.

I’m currently involved in the bi yearly new phone hunt…I hate it, I pick one, decide it’s a rip, than dally around. The best thing to do would be to get the htc desire, but parting with my money causes pain. Speaking of my money spending…I should really be behaved with the whole being out of work for a month, alas the temptation was too great : My Other Rise is a Light Cycle It was just too awesome to resist!

For the old school!
