I need to blah!
I have had one exam now and I’ve given myself the rest of the evening off to chill and catch up on blogs. :) I decided there was no point in revising as I have pretty much forgotten how to focus my eyes!
I think my first exam went well. It was one of those exams where there is one question and you know it beforehand, but it is still painful to revise and write it all down in 2 and a 1/2 hours! The exam invigilator even laughed at me half way through when I tried to straighten out my hand. I must have had a humorous look of pain on my face! It’s ok though, I did accidentely throw my pen at him in revenge. :P
Pen throwing and bizarre behaviour is expected in my exams as I get to take my exam in the ‘special persons’ room because I’m dyslexic. It’s quite nice as I don’t see anyone else taking the same exam as me so I feel more relaxed about what I’ve revised and it’s in a normal classroom so it feels less stressful. My exam was quite entertaining though. First, there was an announcement that the engineers in the room had already probably seen the paper as it was available online last night and they were to pretend they hadn’t seen it. Next, I changed my surname this year, but it hadn’t been changed for exams for some reason, hopefully I’ll get a mark still! Then half way through the exam the engineering student next to me starts saying ‘bollocks!’ to himself when he makes a mistake and frantically scribbles on his paper. Every few minutes he had this mini strop before eventually throwing his book and leaving. Poor guy!
I’m glad I only have one other exam this semester and it is on Friday. It’s in the same topic my dissertation is on so hopefully the revision shouldn’t be too intensive. It’s the name and dates I struggle with. I spent most of last night when I was meant to be sleeping recited names and dates to myself. I was hoping that, as research has shown that sleep aids memory consolidation, that I would wake up knowing them all! But that didn’t happen…Instead I woke up with the Inspector Gadget theme tune in my head! Seriously strange…Inspector Gadget is cool though :P As long as I didn’t write “Gadget (2010) conducted an experiment…” anywhere in my exam I’ll be ok!
This post is a bit pointless really. I think I just needed to ‘blah’ for a bit. I haven’t really done anything except revise and finish my lit review for weeks. I can’t wait till Friday, after then I have a week off. I probably won’t know what to do with myself! I haven’t even painted my nails or anything, I might do that now, I always find it quite relaxing, it’s probably the fumes…:P
In a kind of coming soon-esque ending I do have some pretty things to show if I could ever get some sunlight here. I bought myself a Deborah Lippman polish is Bad Romance, it looks lovely! I also bought some random bits and pieces in some sort of self bribery to make myself revise more. Maybe it was more self pity, to apologise for making my own brain melt. Either way, I have pretty goodies! I will be spending the rest of this week in revision pain and the weekend drunk if all goes well. Actually whether it goes well or not I will be drunk. It will either be in celebration or defeat! :P
I hope everyone is well, I’ve really missed reading and commenting on blogs this week! It’s weird to think I knew nothing of following blogs until last year! I’m coming close to 100 posts and I have a few goodies I’ve saved up from offers and sales so I was considering a little giveaway. The finales are coming! Man the turrets!
Been busy this weekend catching up on work after spending the tail end of last week being tortured by dentists. All fixed now and I have lovely white teeth and only a slightly sore jaw. I have a lovely dentist so they managed to put my filling that went ‘ping’ (cue Money Python machine that goes bing! noise) back in the next morning. So now I’m happy again and almost caught up on work I shall go and chill and paint my nails as they’ve been pink all week! *gasp* I did put a coat of No7 Crystal Lilac (a pinky/purple pearly colour) on top of my pastel pink and that made it a more pearly than a flat pastel. Dull nail post…I know :p
New Doctor Who finale two parter next week, w00t! Last nights was ok, I don’t really like James Corden, but he was quite good for the comic relief. Strange episode when I think about it, not a lot of sci-fi…a lot of Matt Smith playing football and head-butting James Corden. Hmm…I dunno, hopefully finale should be good, they have built it up enough!
Stargate Universe finale on Tuesday! I Sky plus it normally and save up 2+ episodes at a time as the tension kills me! I couldn’t cope waiting a week for every cliff hanger! I know people are going to die, but who! It’s an awesome show, I’ll be sad when it’s over. Also, last episode had a World of Warcraft joke <3 Eli. What am I going to watch when these both finish? :o

Back from the hygienists…I will be eating soup today I guess :( AND I have to go back to have my one filling re-done as she managed to ping it out! Fun times…
On the way back from the torture I went to the shop and managed to grab me the new Glamour mag with the free Benefit makeup. Very happy about that, though probably looked like a nutter buying three of the same mag and two cans of soup.

At least I didn’t miss the postman for once! My full sized Meow order arrived today. So I can go back to the correct shade of foundation. It all arrived in a cute little leopard print bag too (see under pots), so sweet!
The postman even bought me my Super Mario Galaxy 2 game today! :) I wasn’t expecting it till tomorrow. I’m glad it came early as I can distract myself for a bit. :) Feeling a bit meh, back to work for now.
NOTD Models Own Pastel Pink
I’ve been uber busy this week with work. Creating stimuli for an experiment is proving a difficult/brain melting task. It’s not difficult, more time consuming. It’s like being forced to play Countdown 9-5, but you must get the answer even if you don’t see it for hours! I do have moments of clarity where I make progress, but not as frequent as I would hope!
ASOS kindly re-shipped my nail polish that arrived without a brush. Sent next day delivery too, much better than previous customer service experience with ASOS. A couple of years ago they were awful if anything went wrong. So all is well! I’m shocked at how pink it looks! It stayed basically the same colour as the bottle is. The application was a crappy first coat, where I was lucky if any stayed on my nail, but the second coat was perfect and fixed that all up nicely. :) I’m glad I bought it as it is very different to any colour I have, whether it suits me or not is another matter. It’s a bit too girly for me on its own. I might try and put a sheer coat of something over it. I’ll try later in the week. As for now my brain needs to re-solidify and I have to get up early tomorrow to be butchered by a hygienist at the dentists :( I’ve never been to one before, but I remember when I was little, my sister came out to the waiting room after seeing a hygienist covered in blood! I’ve cancelled this appointment four times already…groan…fifth time lucky?
A cat tale (lol, pun) and a rescue NOTD
Last day of freedom from working! Its been fun, but I am quite bored so I think I’ll be happy to start doing something again. After exams I always find it hard to remember what I did before them. All I seem to remember how to do at the moment is paint nails, watch junk and sleep. Can exams give you brain damage? :s
Ziggy did not like the vets yesterday, took my 15 minutes to get him into his carrier. He goes all splayed legged and meows is a sad way to guilt me. :( Eventually I got him in, got a taxi to the vets where he spent the whole journey with paws through the bars making me sad, then he wouldn’t come out of his carrier for the nice vet! He was only there for his yearly jab and a claw clipping, but he likes to make it difficult! Eventually we got him out and the vet tried to weigh him, every time he was put on the scale and let go, wooosh! he was away! Good news is he is fine apart from being a scaredy cat, and a bit fat! I was covered in hair from wrestling him when he was getting his claws cut! I never learn not to wear black with a black and white cat! Still he is cute and he was happy to be home! (yes, that is a table by the window, I used to have flowers on that table, until nosey cat wanted to live there! Window view and next to the radiator, spoilt cat!)
This is GOSH Rainbow applied a little heavy handed over GOSH black with Barry M Vivid Purple tips. Not that you can see any of that! The GOSH and Barry M seemed to be very thick and every time I bashed my nails I had little dents! A coat of rainbow covers any disaster nails. :) Think I’ll take this off though, I should reply test the thickness of polishes I haven’t used before. They look fine, but feel really weird. Groan…removing rainbow, I may be awhile, think I’ll put a film on!
New job!
I had my new job induction today at the uni! I just wore my usual job outfit of shirt/tanktop with black jeans. To smarten it up I wore my new boots! I didn’t have any flat boots, or any smart shows for that matter! So I bought these on sale at ASOS. They are really comfy too! They are black, it’s just the flash making them blueish.
I did my nails too as they were looking scruffy and went for GOSH black which is not the easiest stuff to apply, but opaque is one coat. The problem is I can’t seem to apply to thinly even when I want to! At least it doesn’t dry to badly, but I make a mess putting it on. After that fun 10 mins I put Barry M vivid purple tips on. Picture with flash as it is miserable outside today and sunlight doesn’t exist.
As I am home nice and early, plus I don’t need to take the kitty to the vets till this afternoon, I am going to chill out and watch daytime murder mysteries! Woo!
Hai2u? Finished Exams!
Hello! I have finally finished my exams! I decided to start writing one of these blogs as I randomly started finding lots of beauty blogs lately. I think I was searching for something random, like info on a band, while distracting myself from revision and google dropped me into a blog filled with pretty pictures and make up stuff. From there I started reading lots of blogs and really enjoyed reading them. I felt left out so I made my own! :)
To start off I thought I’d do one of the questionnaires from other blogs!
Shampoo: Aussie Miracle Moist
Conditioner: Aussie Miracle Moist and the 3 minute miracle
Styling products: Tresemme heat protection spray and/or Aussie styling spray either the heat protection or the texturising one. Depends how long it has been since a haircut!
Shower Gel: Palmolive Shower Milk in Cherry Blossom it smells so nice!
Body moisturiser: No 7 body serum
Deodorant: Nivea Double Effect
Fake Tan: None, I look ridiculous with it on. Though I do sometime get a spray on tan from the beautician, which can look good, but too expensive to maintain
Cleanser: Nivea cleansing face wipes
Exfoliator: For face: Soap and Glory The Greatest Scrub of All. For body: Sanctuary spa salt scrub, I really like this but a bit pricey so often get Soap and Glory heat therapy scrub too.
Primer: No 7 serum and day sorbet moisteriser. I am trying Meow Comestics primer at the moment and it seems quite good.
Foundation brush: A basic flat brush thing for mineral foundation, or fingers for anything else.
Concealer: Benefit ‘Boi-ing’ or highlighter from the body shop
Powder: Used to be Benefit dandelion, used a whole pot! Took about 2 years, now trying Rimmel Stay Matte and it’s really good.
Blusher: I am pretty red cheeked anyway but often use 2tru a blush pink stain and currently trying out Meow blushers. They apply really well and blend better than the 2tru liquid.
Bronzer: Never used one
Highlighter: Benefit Highbeam if I do use one
Eyeshadow base: I’m lazy and suck at eyeshadow so I don’t really need a base
Eyeshadows: I have a couple of cheap sets that have a lot of different colours, but I don’t tend to wear eyeshadow. I have the Benefit big beautiful eyes set which is a load of browns and how to use them, I can just about manage that. Other than that I am eyeshadow challenged!
Eyeliner: Eyeliner, I can use that! I have Benefit waterproof for standard days and some No.7 browns for less harsh looks and some GOSH blues and Eyeko glitter for fun times. Depends on what I find in my make up bag first!
Curler: Would not have a clue what to do with it?!
Mascara: Benefit Bad Gal
Lipstick: I have poor genes, I have basically no lips! There seems no point in lipstick :(
Lipgloss: I like Illamasqua sheer in Electrify(a pale pink) and intense in Petulant(a hot pink). I also have a number of highstreet glosses where I’ve liked the colour. I just pick one at random that looks nice, not that you can really tell on my lips!
Nail Colour: At the moment Barry M Berry with Revlon Lilac Pastelle tips
