Butterball Ballistic and Amandopondo Bubble Bar

Today I had a nice Lush bath using Amandopondo and Butterball. I only had these two left in my Lush stash and I’ve had a sore back the last week so thought I’d throw them both in and have a lovely bath in the hope it would make my back feel better.

Butterball is bath ballistic. It’s quite small and heavy and smells of cocoa butter.

Lush saysThe bouncing Butterball is chock with chips of cocoa butter to melt all over your hot body in warm water and smooth you all over like a master masseur. It will fizz joyously, scenting the water with sweet musk and vanilla and softening you up nicely.

Amandopondo is a rose and lemon bubble bar. I’ve already used half of it and it makes lots of bubbles and give a faint rose scent. I love rosy smells, so this makes me very happy! :)

Lush saysLemon and rose to help you forgive and forget. Amandopondo is scented with rose absolute and a twist of lemon and orange oils. Each little cream pillow of this Bubble Bar has a rosebud on top to symbolize an appeal for forgiveness. Present one to anyone to whom you owe an apology; once they have bathed in its rose-scented foam to soothe resentment, lemon to clear the mind and orange to lift the spirits, all should be forgiven.

First I wash my hair because a lot of purple comes out of it and I don’t want to bathe in purple dye run off! Then while I freeze in my downstairs bathroom I ran my bath and added the Amandopondo bubble bar half. I crumbled it under the running water and was instantly greeted by lots of lovely bubbles and a rosy smell!

Next I added the Butterball. I had been putting off using this because I’d read that a lot of people don’t like it. I’d read that it was greasy and left the bath a mess with cocoa butter, but the Lush description sounded quite nice, so I thought I’d give it a go!

When I put it in the water it fizzed around. It didn’t really smell very strong, just a little hint of vanilla which was quite nice. When I took it out to have a look (see below) you can see all the cocoa butter chips.

I have my bath water quite hot so the cocoa butter chips all melted in the water, but I expect if you don’t have your water very hot they might not melt and get everywhere? Maybe that is where the bad review originate from? I don’t know.

Anyhoo, I had a lovely bath and it left my skin feeling really soft and smooth. My back feels a bit better now and I’m glad I didn’t need to scrub the bath afterwards! That probably would have finished my poor back off! I would definitely buy this again, it smelled lovely and left my skin feeling nice. :)

So now I’m all out of Lush things! I need to get some more. I fancy like trying something new. I’ve been through most of the bath ballistics, maybe I should try some soaps because I’ve not tried any yet. Any suggestions lovely people? :)
