To celebrate Australia’s 110 year Aussie-versary Aussie have released new pretty packaging and are also hosting a little giveaway for the blogging community. Each Aussie Angel has 7 Summer party packs to give away and all you have to do to win one is leave a comment below telling me if you have something to celebrate and what it is, it can be anything big or little – Aussie use any excuse to celebrate! :) Don’t forget to leave me your email to contact you as well!
And best of all? All those who receive packs will have the opportunity to take part in a challenge, with the chance of one person winning 10 tickets for themselves and 9 of their friends or followers to the HUGE Summer party in October! I went to the last party in the Summer and it was a lot of fun!
If you are one of the seven chosen to receive a Summer pack you can choose one product from the Aussie-versary Limited Edition ranges to include in your own pack:
So, each winner can choose one product from the following ranges:
Take The Heat range – shampoo, conditioner, 3MM, heat-protection cream, heat-protection spray – For beautifully blow-dried hair wrap these products around your locks.
Miracle Moist – Shampoo, conditioner, 3MM – These heavenly products infuse moisture into dry damaged hair, leaving hair quenched, luscious, smooth and conditioned faster than you can say ‘shine on me’.
Luscious Long – Shampoo, conditioner, 3MM, leave-in conditioner – Blended with wonderful lovelies like Blue Mountain Eucalyptus extract, these products help transform weak, distressed hair into luscious locks.
The deadline to enter for is Friday 19 August (That’s this Friday!)
I’ve already played with my party poppers (love the smell after you pop them!), put on my flip flops and sunglasses and I’ve only been awake about 30 minutes, lazy day! :P I’m off to try out my new Take The Heat conditioner and leave in spray. Since I’ve been growing my hair I figured I should be using more heat protection to cope with my daily straightening :) Oooh and popping candy for lunch, good day! :D

I woke up with a rotten cold this morning and I feel like I’m going to combust. It’s raining here today I really want to go and sit outside and cool down! Oh well, at least I made it through all my exams without having a cold for once! :) My plan for the day is to sit and watch dvd’s all day and eat ice lollies! Or I could rewatch the last Doctor Who season. Splitting this season will leave me with withdrawal for awhile with nothing to watch on TV! Especially with SGU getting cancelled and it’s fast approaching final episode, noooo! I’m sure I’ll find something else, there’s always plenty of Diagnosis Murder on Alibi :P
Hope you all have a lovely time the rest of the weekend and thank you all for following my blog and entering my giveaway! <3 xxxx
EDIT- Also I apologise if you have a half finished post about Shellac from my blog in your feeds! I had Shellac done on my toes last week and was just writing the start of the review. I didn’t mean to publish it yet as I want to see how it lasts and then do a post. I better go away from the computer before I do something really stupid :P
I am a little absent from blogging at the moment due to my dissertation being handed in (just having a break before I finish it, yay!) and also I have 2 weeks of exam coming up.
This time last year, I also had exams and during a break from revision I googled a band and instead found some lovely beauty blogs! From there I found many other beauty-make up-fashion-nail blogs and discovered the world of blogging! I have had blogs in the past and posted a lot on forums, but I’ve always got bored or had nothing to say. For example, writing a blog about bands I’d seen is ok, but you don’t see bands every week, or sometimes for months! It makes for a boring blog… But in beauty etc blogging there’s new things constantly and it’s lovely to read everyone blogs everyday and it’s also fun to write my own things too!
Writing random blog posts has helped my writing skills immensely. Just practicing and having to write in a way that people can read is really helpful to me. My 4000 word dissertation didn’t seem anywhere near as horrible as I found simple 1500 essays in the past. I really struggled, but now I feel much more confident with my writing.
As is customary on a birthday, gifts will be given, but not to me, to you lovely people! I’m having the customary birthday blog giveaway!
There will be 2 prizes that will go to 2 different people:
#1 - Filthy Gorgeous Nail Polish Set
#2 - Your choice of 3 Barry M Nail Paints from BarryM.com.
Now for the boring bit!

Congratulations! I have sent an email to you to arrange delivery of the goodies! :)
Thank you everyone for entering and thank you for all your lovely comments and following my blog! <3
I have low persistence and high procrastination so it is absolutely amazing that I have made and maintained this blog! I have had blogs on blogger, livejournal, deadjournal (if anyone remembers that), Yahoo! Groups, my own websites and forums and at most I last a couple of months before I’m bored or distracted by something else…like a butterfly or a shiny penny!:P
I think the reason I am still blogging here is because I actually enjoy it and the people are lovely! :)
I am quite dyslexic and I have issues with writing. It takes me a couple of hours to write a post and I often read it back and think ‘What is wrong with my brain! I didn’t write that nonsense!’. But blogging seems to have improved my writing skills a little, just by writing more regularly than I would normally. The practice seems to be doing some good to my shrivelled brain! So I will definitely try to keep my blog going until I run out of random nonsense to drivel on about :)
I felt like giving something back to you lovely people and I’ve been saving up odd bargains and things that have caught my eye so I can give them away on here. It’s nothing crazy, just things I’ve seen in sales and picked up.
So here is a giveaway to just say thank you for being so wonderful and nice to me!
The giveaway consists of these goodies!
elf – Corrective concealer kit and Twinkle polish
Accessorize - Nail polishes in Superstar, Magical Mocha and Tulle Pink
Eyeko – Bronzer (Rio), Fat Balm (Minty) and London Lips lipgloss (Primrose Hill)
No7 – High Shine lipgloss (Smile)
Soap & Glory – Clean On Me shower gel and Hand Food hand cream.

2. Leave a comment below with your email address and tell me what you are looking forward to this year!? (I’m nosy :P)
3. For extra entries mention this giveaway on your blog or twitter. Leave me a link in your comment and/or mention on twitter (@Gemx).
4. The giveaway is international.
4. It will end on 11:59 pm on 14th February <3 (awww!).
5. The winner will be picked at random via a random number generator and notified via email on 15th February. If there is no reply to this email after 3 days I will pick another random winner.
6. I will then send out a well packed box of goodies! :)
If I’m not already following your blog let me know and put a link in the comment. I love finding new blogs to follow :)
Thanks everyone! xxxx
The lovely Christina over at Christina Marie says… had a great elf giveaway to mark 100+ followers and I won! :D *happy dance* You should give her a visit if you haven’t already, she has a lovely blog. :)
Before I go any further…Thank you Christina!
The package arrived yesterday when I was at uni so I had to wait until this evening to rescue it from the clutches of the post office! When I finally got it I was surprised by a large box packed up tightly!
A quick attack with a sharp object later I found the goodies inside all wrapped up in bubble wrap (ready for me to annoy my OH with later!) :) I have never used elf before so I was very excited to unwrap all the goodies!
There was a lovely note from Christina inside and some sweeties, I love lollipops! Onto the goodies, they were:
ELF Beauty Encyclopedia – Basic Eyes Palette
This is a lovely set of neutrals with everything you could need to create an everyday look, it comes with 12 shadows, 2 cream shadows, a black kohl and a double ended brush.
ELF Beauty Encyclopedia – Lip Edition Palette
This is a set of light pink-dark red lip, it comes with 12 lip colours, 2 glosses, a lip liner and a lip brush. I would not of thought to ever pick this for myself, but after a quick play with it, it looks fab! I think I’ll enjoy trying all these!
French Manicure Set
A pink/white and clear polish set for the perfect french manicure! I love the french manicure look, I just wish I hadn’t of chopped my nails off this morning! Doh!
ELF Defining Eye Brush
A new eye defining brush! I really needed one of these as I’ve been working with the tiny brush from the Urban Decay Naked set for ages!
ELF Lash Kit – Dramatic (Black)
These lashes look great, I can’t wait to give them a go. Though don’t expect pictures as my application is still a bit…awful. Maybe if I have a good attempt at it!
These all seem so nice, I think I may be an elf convert! I will review these lovely goodies soon! :) Thanks again Christina! xxxx
I think this is the last images I have to put up with long nails! :( I chopped them down and now my fingers look stubby! :s Oh well, prepare for lots of stubbiness after this post! :p
This was free with Marie Claire this month, I’m liking the amount of free polish I’m finding with magazines lately :). It is a red jelly, very shiny even without a topcoat. I really like this red. You do get a slight visible nail line due to it’s jelly nature, but it’s not too bad, it is barely noticeable. I put on two coats of the red and only noticed the nail line when taking the pictures in the sunlight.
I have not tried any Ciate before, but I liked the formula of this polish, it’s very shiny, but it did remain dentable even after several hours. I went to bed about 2-3 hours after application and still woke up with sheet marks on some fingers. Do all Ciate have a similar formula/take ages to dry? I did not put a topcoat on though, so that may have been my error rather than the polish. I shall try again with a good topcoat as I really like the colour.
This is probably my favourite red polish I have, the red is very red, but it doesn’t bring out any bizarre skin colours. If that makes any sense?! I have some reds that make my skin look red and others that make it look blue. Neither are a good look! :P
